In order to deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's thoughts on promoting high-quality economic development while maintaining high-level environment protection, Liaoning University established the Institute of Environment and Economics in February 2022, which shares the office and research team with the Liaoning Provincial Center For Financial Studies and the Liaoning University Center for Financial Studies. It is a physical department in Liaoning University.

Since the establishment of the Institute of Environment and Economics, it have undertaken multiple projects assigned by the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Liaoning Provincial People's Government, and other departments (industries), published lots of practical research results, and carried out highly influential academic activities. The full-time and part-time researchers at the our institute all have led or participated in national/provincial-level research projects, with rich experience in project research. In August 2022, the Institute of Environment and Economics was approved as one of the provincial-level key new think tanks in Liaoning Province.

Looking towards the future, our team will work hard to contribute to the high-quality development of the regional economy and the world-class discipline construction in Liaoning University.
